Girls Day Out ~ Outdoor Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA
/When you think of having a girls day, what type of activities do you imagine?
I’m sure some of you are imagining a relaxing day all about self-care that involves going to a spa or getting your nails done. Some of you are also probably imagining a fun movie night with plenty of wine and your best friends by your side. If you love the outdoors, you might even imagine a fun hiking day with your girls!
I love these fun ideas as much as the next person, but I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes it’s time to shake things up! Even the most exciting activity can start to feel a bit boring if it’s always picked for your girls day… We all have our favorites, but there’s something really fun about trying out a new activity and being adventurous with your closest friends!
If you’re looking for a different activity and feel like you’re ready to try something new for a change, I have the PERFECT activity for you… Consider a boudoir session with all of your best friends!
You may be thinking… I’ve never had a boudoir session before! Would it be overwhelming with a group of people there for my session? Honestly, there’s no better way to comfort yourself and give yourself an instant confidence boost if you do have any first time nervousness! Having your friends with you is like having a built-in support system and cheerleading squad right there during your session. (If you do prefer having some privacy during your shoot, though, of course we’ll make sure that you feel comfortable! We can always have your friends step out of the room or grab a snack if you’re taking some photos that require a bit more privacy.)
Is this sounding like the type of photography session for you? Wondering what this group boudoir experience would actually be like? Check out this session that I had with my clients!
When three clients decided to book a boudoir session with me for the day, I couldn’t wait! And here’s a fun catch… We shot all of these photos outside! One of my friends and past clients built a yurt on 20 acres of private property in Washington. I stayed updated on her progress as she was building it, and once she was done, I had the opportunity to do a day of sessions out there. I was so excited that my three clients were all down for this outdoor shoot… It definitely made for a unique experience!
Two of my clients from this session allowed me to share their photos, and all of the shots came out looking beautiful! The natural backdrop behind them is absolutely breathtaking. Not only did the landscape make a gorgeous backdrop... Being out in nature had another perk: It was so secluded and private on this property!
When clients strip down for boudoir sessions, this definitely requires privacy. The property that the yurt was on made it SO easy to have a ton of privacy, and my clients felt like they were becoming one with nature out there! Also, the clients who weren’t in front of the camera at the time would hang out in the yurt to relax and grab a snack. This left a TON of privacy for whoever was in front of the camera!
Nature wasn’t the only backdrop we used that day… My clients also made use of a truck as a prop. This definitely added a playful, fun feel to the photos that were taken. Between the natural backdrop and all of the fun props used, my clients were really able to have fun and let go during their shots!
If you ever find yourself in need of a day with your favorite girls, instead of a night with wine and movies or a day filled with pampering and relaxation, consider a boudoir photography session to change things up! Photography sessions are such a fun way to bond with your close friends AND bond with yourself… Plus, once you’re done with the session, you’ll have stunning photos of yourself!
Here’s to changing things up, spending time with friends, and having amazing shots to show for it!
