Staying True to You ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA
/Today, let’s talk style…
Whether you love wearing pieces that are lace or leather, simple or patterned, edgier or softer… there’s always room for you and the styles you love! When it comes to you and your personal style, I love to talk to you about your preferences and see how your favorite styles can find their way into our boudoir photography session… Even if the clothing you choose may be seen as outside of the box!
As the photographer behind the camera, it’s SO fun to see the wide variety of styles and clothing that my clients choose to wear! There are truly no limits or rules when it comes to your personal style and the way you express yourself in front of the camera. Whether you want to wear a sweater, body harness, garter belt, or a slip dress, the choice is all yours.
Here’s my promise to you! No matter your personal style, I guarantee that I’ll help you feel empowered to show up to your boudoir session wearing clothes that feel the most YOU.
Why am I making this promise?
While working with first-time boudoir clients, I occasionally hear concerns about clothing and style. When you think of the “typical” boudoir photography session and the types of clothing worn, what do you imagine? Especially if you’ve never had a boudoir session before, it can be common to imagine glamorous shoots with lacy lingerie and accessories that feel traditionally “feminine.”
I personally LOVE the look of lace along with glamorous accessories in boudoir shoots, but this isn’t the preference of all of my clients. If you’re out there reading this and want to book a boudoir shoot, but you just don’t see yourself wearing these “traditional” boudoir garments… I’m here to remind you that can wear ANYTHING you’re set on!
When my client reached out to me to schedule a boudoir photography shoot, I was already familiar with her because she was very active in my Facebook group… But I was excited to learn more about her and see what she envisioned for her session! She let me know that she wasn’t interested in wearing pink or too much lace for her boudoir session. She has an edgier style and wanted to stay true to her personal taste during the shoot… And as we know, I’m all for embracing the styles that you love!
On the day of the shoot, my client showed up with a variety of outfits that we played around with during the session. While we were in the living room set, she started off with a red sweater, and then she switched into all-black, edgy lingerie with high heels! We continued to shoot in the same living room set, but changing outfits completely changed the feel of the photos we took… It really can be SO fun to play with different styles and change it all up!
My client switched into an animal print set, and we then moved over to both the bedroom set and the shower set. She looked STUNNING in her selected clothing, and the simple white cotton sheets paired so well with the animal print pattern she chose. Take it from my client… If you want to stay true to yourself and styles that you love, a boudoir shoot is the perfect opportunity to embrace your tastes!
In your boudoir session, I want to make sure you feel empowered to wear whatever type of style you feel the most confident wearing. Whether you prefer items that have a softer or edgier feel, you can wear anything you like and feel comfortable in! Don’t worry about any other boudoir photos you might see… Show up wearing clothes that make you feel empowered, and your confidence will be sure to shine through the photos!
