What was going on in your life at the time of the shoot?

Clients have shared that they sometimes book a boudoir session to commemorate a special time in their lives… Celebrating a professional accomplishment, milestone birthday, or even your marriage can be great reasons to come in for boudoir photos!

Then, when you take a look back at your photos from the session, you’ll be taken back to that special moment in your life and be able to relive those positive memories through your photos.

Because of this… boudoir photos can truly tell us the story of our lives!

Not to mention, our boudoir images also capture what our bodies looked like during that time. We’re always evolving and changing, so it’s incredible to have a “time capsule” of ourselves that reminds us of exactly how we looked along with how we felt during the time of the photos.

When my client recently booked a session with me, he shared that he had a TON going on in his life that timed out perfectly with the date of his boudoir session! This photography session acted as a celebration of his upcoming wedding, and it also was a meaningful way to commemorate his eight years on testosterone.

Because he has SO much to celebrate, it’ll be very special for him and his partner to look back on these photos for years to come. These shots will remind them both of the excitement of wedding planning and also the joy of celebrating his eight year anniversary!

Knowing that this session would be so meaningful to my client, I couldn’t wait for the day of our session! When he stepped in the studio, he came prepared with his selection of outfits and was totally ready to go. His first outfit was the perfect look to start telling his story! He wore a gray button-up shirt, and at first, we took photos with his shirt totally buttoned up.

We had a plan to tell his story, though, so it wasn’t long until he started undressing to reveal another look. He slowly buttoned down his shirt to reveal a black bralette underneath, and this was the perfect way to transition away from a traditionally masculine style and include more feminine elements. After he finished undressing, he continued to wear his black bralette and bottoms, and we took many photos using the bedroom set!

Once we captured my client in the black set, it was time to remove the bralette and snap some shots of him all wrapped up in the purple sheets. These photos allowed us to continue highlighting his rainbow tattoo, and some of his other tattoos were captured as well. The shots from this portion of the session are all so powerful and breathtaking! You can definitely see the confidence that radiates from his eyes and expression.

When looking back at these photos, they truly do tell his personal story! Plus, his “undressing” storyline turned out to be a very powerful way to express fluidity. I’m so happy that my client walked away with a positive experience, and I’m especially excited that he’ll have these shots to forever remind him of his testosterone anniversary and wedding.
