Mini Session, Major Magic! ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA
/Today’s post is for you if you’ve always thought about booking a boudoir session, but there’s been something holding you back!
If this sounds like you… Let’s talk about mini boudoir sessions! I don’t always offer mini boudoir experiences, but I sometimes offer them seasonally and am currently offering them for July and August of 2024.
A mini session would be a GREAT fit especially if this next description sounds like you…
You don’t know what to expect from a boudoir session and maybe have some nervousness walking into your first session! Because of this, a shorter session would be the perfect length that allows you to try out the boudoir experience without spending your whole day in the studio. You’ll be in and out!
Or maybe this sounds like you…
You’ve always thought about booking a session, but you’re looking for an option that best fits your personal finances or your family’s budget.
If either of those sound like you… Keep on reading!
Mini boudoir experiences include professional hair and makeup with two studio sets of your choice, but you’ll have around 30 minutes of studio time which makes the experience shorter. At the end, though, you’ll still be able to look back on lots of GORGEOUS boudoir photos! You’ll be surprised by what we can accomplish in 30 minutes…
To get a better idea of what these sessions are like… Let’s recap this fun mini session!
My client won a mini boudoir experience in a silent auction at the Content Warning Event in Portland, Oregon… which I recently sponsored! Before our session, she asked if she could add on a couple headshots for her professional profiles as well, and I was definitely happy to do this. Ahead of time, I also learned a ton about her personal style, interests, and hopes for the session. It became a priority of mine to make sure that this boudoir shoot would help with her body positivity journey!
On the day of the session, we quickly got started with hair and makeup! Emily Filice created a stunning eye look with deep pink tones which matched one of my client’s fuschia looks that was planned for the shoot. The final look was so versatile and perfect for both types of shots… professional AND boudoir! Her hair also looked gorgeous as she rocked her natural curls!
First, we stepped outside and took some headshots in front of my new outdoor greenery wall. For these few shots, my client wore a simple, professional look but kept it fun with her retro-inspired glasses! We captured these quickly and then moved back inside to start the boudoir portion of the session.
Once my client switched into her pink lacy look, it was time to get started in the bedroom set! We took photos of her on the bed, and the silver satin sheets ended up being a great match for the deeper pink tones in her outfit and makeup. I love that these shots are sensual, yet her warm smile gives them a playful feel! My client looks absolutely radiant in these photos.
We then moved over to the solid black backdrop to take our final photos of the session. For these shots, my client wanted to try out some implied nude poses. The hat and sunglasses were great accessories to use for these photos! At first, she wore the accessories, but by the end of this session, she repurposed the hat and used it as a prop in the topless photos. If you ever want to capture sexy shots without revealing too much, this type of implied nude shot is perfect!
Thank you SO much to my client for stopping in for a mini session. I’m happy that you had a positive experience, and I’m excited that you now have these gorgeous boudoir photos to look back on!
To anyone else considering a mini session… Keep in mind that you’re spending a shorter amount of time in the studio, but you’re still guaranteed to receive LOTS of gorgeous photos… That’s the beauty of a mini session!
