Cooking Up Creativity ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA

When you think of the “typical” boudoir photography session, what comes to mind?

Do you think about photos taken in bedroom sets? Do you imagine being draped in silky sheets for your photos? Or even see yourself posing in a living room set?

Well, I know that I do! I absolutely LOVE having the opportunity to take boudoir photos in my bedroom and living room sets… These photos are classic and always come out looking gorgeous!

But what if I told you that there’s a way to shake things up? When we work together, I love to talk about your vision and hopes for the session… If you’re imagining something a bit different and want to get creative, I’m all ears and here to help! I want to create a session for you that feels like it’s a perfect fit for your personality. If your ideal session includes something other than my bedroom and living room sets, that’s more than okay… I’m always excited to make your vision happen!

I wanted to have fun with some creative sets to really show all of the boudoir set possibilities we have… I was so happy that my friend was able to join me for a few different photography sessions! We got creative with the sets, and we both ended up LOVING the results. For makeup, I also worked with a new artist for the first time, and the final look was beautiful. If you love what you see, remember that you’re always welcome to try out these boudoir sets and join me for some fun!

Shower Set

First, my friend and I started out with the shower set! Ever since I started offering the shower set for my boudoir clients, it has quickly become a client favorite. Why? This set allows for us to step outside of my bedroom and living room sets to try something very different! For my friend’s session, we had a live shower set in my Facebook group, and it was so fun to share the process with the group. These photos come out looking SO stunning with a sensual feel to them… No wonder my clients end up LOVING the shots from this set!

Kitchen Set

My friend is starting her own baking business, so what better way to celebrate than with a kitchen-themed photography session? I had a ton of fun setting up this session and organizing all of the props used. Fun fact! The counter that we used for this session is actually the door from my own kitchen pantry! I was in the process of painting my cabinets, so the door was already off… I figured why not get creative and use it for the session? We also had fun adding in cookbooks, baking supplies, and an apron… We really made it feel like a kitchen, making the session feel so authentic and playful!

Rain Room

A few weeks later, we met at my house where I set up an outdoor wet set for another fun session! (Check it out below!) This wet set included a rain room, and here we used plenty of props to bring the shots to life. If you’re personally wanting your boudoir photos to be both playful and sultry, a rain room is a great option for you! We can use an umbrella and a coat as props to make the shots more playful, and we can also include photos that feel more sensual. We can do this by adding a chair as a prop and also by making the photos black and white… just like we did for this photo session!

Milk Bath

My outdoor wet set also included a milk bath setting! I added flowers to the milk bath, and these ended up really standing out in the final photos! We made sure to choose all kinds of different flowers, and this added a colorful touch. Here’s a tip I’ll remember for next time… The water was FREEZING in the milk bath, so I quickly discovered that I needed to fill it part way with some warm water. If you ever join me for a milk bath session, I promise we’ll keep you warm!

If you’re looking to join me for a boudoir session and also hoping for a unique, creative experience, definitely feel free to reach out with your ideas! I’d be so happy to talk with you and bring your creative vision to life. Whether you’re imagining a shower set, milk bath, or even another set, I can’t wait to create a unique boudoir session for you!
