Alexis + Karl ~ Engagement Photography, Vancouver, WA

One of my favorite places for photos in the Vancouver, Washington area is at Wintler Community Park. (I was actually just there this weekend for an elopement wedding session… more about THAT to come at a later date!)

I absolutely LOVE the beach in general, and Wintler has the best “beach” for photos that I’ve found in the area. If you know of a better beach-y area, though, I’m all ears! So I was MORE than excited when Alexis and Karl agreed to meet me at the park for their engagement photos!

These two have been together for many years and after building a life together with a beautiful home and two amazing sons, they decided to make it “official” next year on their anniversary! I can’t wait to be there to document their big day for them at The Academy in Vancouver! (I’ve been wanting to photograph that venue for a long time… so am almost as excited as they are for the day to come. lol)

We started their session up in the actually park area, getting cozy on the benches over looking the Columbia River.

Wintler Park gets some BEAUTIFUL fall colors… unforunately, fall waited a little while longer to get here this year (are we really surprised, though? #2020), so the gorgeous path down to the beach wasn’t AS colorful as it could have been. Though, while I may be biased, I still think it was pretty beautiful…

We got down to the beach just in time to start catching some GORGEOUS light from the setting sun on the horizon… This piece of driftwood is one of the reasons that I love this location so much… it makes for a great photo prop. =)

With the sun setting, we decided to do a quick wardrobe change for Alexis (with some wardrobe malfunction problem solving included… FYI white camisoles make for excellent skirt slips!) for a few more shots on my driftwood. =)

I have known Alexis and Karl for several years now, and have photographed many special moments for their family (including the birth of their second son). It was so nice to get the opportunity to watch them interact together, as a couple in love, without, you know, labor and contractions and stuff. ;)

Just as the sun said goodbye, we were able to sneak in one more set of images with the two little men that make this family complete (and are going to make some handsome little ring bearers next October!)
