Studio Set Series: The Fireplace ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA
/Now that you’ve had an inside look at many of my studio sets… Do you have a favorite?
If you’re a fan of traditional boudoir sets, then your favorite might be the bedroom or the living room! These two sets are classics for a good reason, and they’re used in just about every boudoir session I’ve had.
If you’re a fan of my special sets instead, then the shower set or solid backdrop would be up your alley! Plus, there are many special sets that haven’t been featured in a blog post yet… It’s possible that your favorite set is actually one of my special sets that you just haven’t explored!
When it comes to me, I truly love all of my sets in different ways. Because I worked on creating them, I know what it took to make each one happen… leaving me with a deeper love for each one. Even though that’s the case… honestly, my favorite set changes quite often!
At the moment, If I had to pick a favorite… I would have to go with my fireplace! Getting the fireplace together was truly a labor of love, and I’m thrilled with the way that each piece adds to the vintage vibe of the set. I’ve been excited to talk about what it took to make the fireplace set come to life, and it’s finally time!
I was so excited about the idea of a fireplace in my studio that I specifically planned for it when designing the space! It definitely took awhile to plan out the fireplace, but it took even longer to find the pieces that would bring the whole space together…
The mantle itself was an awesome find from Facebook Marketplace! After finding this piece, I could breathe a sigh of relief… The main piece was secured, so then I just had to find smaller pieces of decor that would liven things up and fill in the space!
I knew that I wanted a mirror in the fireplace set, and I ended up finding one in a Buy Nothing group. It was a different color when I found it, but I painted it silver. This silver color is definitely a MUCH better fit for the space!
The mirror has ended up becoming such a useful tool for my boudoir photos. Clients will either sit down on the ground, the couch, or the bed and pose while I take photos of them through the mirror. I take these types of shots in almost every boudoir session I have, so I’m especially glad that I found this mirror for my studio!
The Buy Nothing group came in handy for me a few more times! The peacock art, clock, plants, vases, and teal chair all came from the Buy Nothing group. Just like the mirror, many of these items needed to be updated after finding them! The vases originally came to me in bright red and blue… which I knew wasn’t right for my space! I ended up painting them a neutral almond color which works perfectly with my studio’s color palette.
The teal chair also needed quite a bit of love! It was actually my very first piece of studio furniture ever, and I found it around 2016 in my Buy Nothing group. I gave it a deep clean after picking it up, and it definitely needed it! After I got all of the dirt and pet hair out of it, I was absolutely in LOVE. It’s gorgeous and has a vintage, antique look to it… Plus, it’s great for capturing backlit booty shots for my boudoir clients! It was such a great find.
I’m excited that I was able to give you the inside scoop on my fireplace set! After reading this post and learning that I handpicked all of the decor in this space… I hope you love the fireplace, too! This was absolutely a labor of love, and I’m so proud of how the set came out.
