Photo Session: Mommy and Me

Mommy and Me photography sessions have always been some of my favorites!
Why? When it comes to family photos, moms are usually left with selfies or photos taken by our partners… Needless to say, the angles in those photos aren’t always the best! Sometimes we aren’t in family photos at all when things get too hectic and we’re pulled away from the photo! Other times, we even have to play photographer.
Sometimes moms get the short end of the stick, and this leaves us without photos that we love of ourselves with our kids! It’s so important that we have photos of ourselves with our children that we can cherish and keep through the years. There’s nothing better than being able to look back at family photos and see the moments of joy that we shared with our family. As the years fly by and our kids grow up, it’s awesome to have a snapshot of our memories with them… Our kids love to look back at these photos, too!
Personally, I have a handful of images of myself with my mother when I was a child, and these have always been some of my favorite photos… These photos captured memories that will always be special to me. Down the road in the future, I’ll use these photos when sharing stories and memories with my children and grandchildren, too.

I was so excited to be able to photograph three families during Mommy and Me sessions recently! I love knowing that we’re capturing memories of families that will be printed, hung, and looked back on for years.
The weather wasn’t always amazing, but we found ways to make it work! And even used the blowing wind to our advantage with the cherry blossoms! We all had such a fun time taking these photos, too! I love when I’m able to capture family dynamics, personalities, and laughter on camera… The photos that show the laughs and fun times are always some the best photos to look back on!
