Leather & Lace ~ Motorcycle Boudoir ~ Vancouver, WA

When you think of a boudoir photography session, what do you think of?

Take a minute to really think about it…

I bet you imagined a classic bedroom backdrop or even a shower set with photos featuring just one person. After all, many boudoir sessions do include these elements!

Today, though, I’m here to talk about ways to change up these classic elements of boudoir photo shoots and really shake things up! If you’ve had your own boudoir photography experience, I bet you’re looking for even more ways to raise the stakes. Are you ready to spice up your photos and try out a new type of boudoir session? If you’re looking for an experience that’s completely unique and out of the box, I have some ideas for you…

And some of these ideas are brought to you by my incredible client! She already had one boudoir photography session with me in the past, and she reached out again to schedule a second shoot with me. This time, though, she had new ideas in mind… My client wanted to include her husband’s motorcycle in the shots as an amazing gift for his birthday! (Such an AWESOME plan!)

When we were planning this motorcycle session, we were REALLY hoping for an outdoor session, but the weather wasn’t cooperating with us. Because of this, I ended up renting a large RV garage for the session. Here’s a behind the scenes photo of our backdrop, lighting, and studio for the day! Check it out! Nothing super fancy….. it’s a total case of “what you see” vs. “what I see”.!

If you’re looking to take some inspiration from my client, definitely consider adding in some fun props to your next boudoir session! Booking a session as a gift to your husband and he’s big on cars? Think about including his car or even a cool vintage car for a personal, sexy touch! If your partner is a sports superfan, consider adding a jersey from his favorite team. These special props will take your session to the next level and make your photos so unique… Not to mention, your partner will LOVE seeing a special touch that was added to your photos just for them!

Looking for more ideas that can shake up your session? Try a couple’s session! My client’s first session with me was a couple’s session, and she decided to add her husband to the shoot once again. To keep her solo images a surprise this time, we only included her husband in the last set of photos! He didn’t see her solo pictures until she gifted him an album.

Not only does a couple’s session lead to really spicy photos to look back on… Taking photos with your partner during a boudoir session is an incredible moment of intimacy that allows you to really connect with each other. A couple’s boudoir session can make for such a unique date night that’s out of the box!

Check out all the stunning photos below that were taken during this session! It really pays off to try new ideas and add special, personal touches to your photography shoots… It always makes for photos that are totally you and very unique! Classic boudoir sessions are always amazing, but if you have something else in mind, I’m always here to help you create the photography set of your dreams. If you have a special vision in mind for your photoshoot, I’m all ears, and I’d love to hear about it. Let’s bring your vision to life!
