Welcome to the World, Callie! ~ Newborn Photography, Vancouver, WA
/Remember in the “Before Times” when there were in-person bazaars, silent auctions, and school fundraising events? Well, that’s where this family found out about me… at a school fundraising auction. I really like being able to help out location schools and community groups, and donated a few gift certificates each year for family photo sessions!
This fall was a particularly important one for this family… as it was their first holiday season with their newest member, Callie!
Callie and her family met me at Hockinson Meadows Community Park (one of my FAVES!) for a “New Family” session. My focus during these sessions is, obviously, on the newest arrival, but, ALSO documenting family interaction and “the look” in the parent’s eyes. You know that look, right? The “Oh my God, look at what we created? She’s so beautiful! … and we’re so tired.” lol Those moments go by so quickly…

I have a soft spot for photos of Dads with their kids. Especially when Dad is looking at them like this…
When a new little sibling arrives in a family, I know that it can be super challenging for any big siblings to adjust to. I love being able to give big brother/sister jobs, and focus my camera on them sometimes, too! They need to be reminded, sometimes, that they are still a super important part of the family!
And then, of course, all the “newborn” photos… hair, noses, eyes, ears, toes, lips… all of those itty bitty little pieces that make up this brand new person…
Happy Holidays, Callie! Maybe let your folks sleep through the night as your gift to them this year? lol
