First Session in my NEW STUDIO! ~ Boudoir Photography, Vancouver, WA

Here’s to new beginnings!

I don’t know about you, but for me, 2021 has definitely been a year of changes. Last year, my photography business kept growing, and my boudoir bookings were increasing, too. After taking a LOT of time to think everything over, I made the difficult decision to branch out and rent my own studio space!

Here was my vision: I was hoping for a space that I could decorate and set up with more permanent set designs and props, too.

I looked around for some time, but I didn’t end up seeing anything that met my needs and budget. I basically gave up, but then I came across a unit just a few blocks away from my previous studio… And everything just lined up!

After some fresh paint and flooring, many FedEx shipments, and a lot of hard work from contractors (thank you all SO much)… my new studio was all ready to go! Once my studio was all painted and decorated, I was finally ready to open up the space for photography sessions. Fun fact… This boudoir photography session was the first boudoir session in the new studio!

Boudoir sessions are typically unique, new experiences for my clients. This time, though, this session was a new experience for me! It was such an amazing experience to be able to finally capture the new space and props after spending a ton of time working on designing and decorating. It was so exciting to finally see the bedroom set get some use and come to life! I also loved seeing the natural lighting come through in these photos… I loved my old photography space, too, but it feels awesome to celebrate this change and appreciate my new surroundings.

When it came to decorating this studio, my goal was to also make this space inviting and welcoming for my boudoir clients… I always want to make sure that my clients are feeling comfortable and confident in their photography environment.

With my client, we had an awesome time exploring all of the new backdrops, and her confidence SHINED through while taking these photos! It was especially fun to incorporate an LA Rams jersey in some of these shots in a nod to her partner!

While reviewing these photos and looking back through them, it was so clear to see that she was absolutely GLOWING during this session. These photos show the beauty and confidence of my client plus all of the hard work that was put into this space! This is always going to be a very special session for me. <3
