Fancy Faces by Amy ~ Portland, OR ~ Brand Story Photography Session
/Ever since I started offering my brand story packages for businesses, I’ve had so much fun discovering more about some of the amazing businesses we have here in the Pacific Northwest! Recently, I had the opportunity to learn all about Fancy Faces by Amy, a face painting business that’s local to the Portland area. It was amazing to learn more about such a skilled face painter and see her in action!
When I first met Amy Harrison and saw her amazing work with face paint, I was blown away! I couldn’t wait to see her paint in person and help capture her work during our brand photography session together. Plus, I knew my daughter would be just as big of a fan as I was… After seeing Amy’s work, we even asked if she could come to my daughter’s birthday and offer her face painting services. It ended up being a bit hit, and all of the kids loved their new art!
On the day of our session, I let Amy know that I’d be acting as the “paparazzi” while she worked away! Our plan was for Amy to focus on doing her thing with face painting while I focus on documenting all of the action. I wanted to make sure to take progress shots of her work and also capture the kids’ reactions after seeing the finished face painting! Plus, it was super important to make sure that we took photos of Amy that she could use for her website, social media, or branding.
While spending the day with Amy and photographing her work, I learned more about the different types of services she offers. She offers traditional full service face painting, and this offering allows people to choose from over 50 design choices… Think animals, superheroes, and all types of princess designs! With this offering, Amy can average between 12 and 15 people per hour. This is the perfect option for a child’s birthday party or even a company picnic! After all, who says that adults can’t get their faces painted, too?
Amy also offers speed painting for events that are bigger in scale such as a school-wide carnival or a larger fair. For these types of events, there are 5 to 8 set designs that you can choose from. Even though a fewer number of designs are offered, the chosen designs are always a hit! To get an idea of the options… Amy offers rainbows, half butterflies, and Spiderman themes as some of the styles to select from. With speed painting, each design takes around 2 minutes to complete, so Amy can complete between 25 to 30 people each hour.
Aside from those offerings, Amy provides glitter tattoos at all events as requested! She also offers costume make-up, body painting, and belly painting if you’re looking for more of a personalized service. For these types of requests, it’s best to contact Amy, and you both can discuss your vision for the design.
Now that I’m thinking about it… Can you imagine how cool it would be to have body painting done and then feature that artwork in a boudoir session? Seeing Amy’s incredible work is such a source of inspiration and also gets me thinking about my own work! This is why it can be so incredible to meet and collaborate with local business owners and artists.
Thank you again to Amy for spending the day with me! It was amazing to see you in action, and I’m so happy that I was able to help out with branding photos. I also greatly appreciate your hard work at my daughter’s birthday party! All of your face painting designs were amazing and became such a hit.
