If you’re in love with the idea of having a fun theme for your special wedding day, then today’s blog post is just for you!

There are so many ways to choose which theme to use when tying the knot! If the possibilities seem endless, think about some of the hobbies and common interests you share with your partner… That’s exactly what Emily and Eli did for their big day!

Emily and Eli planned their wedding around a Dungeons and Dragons theme, and from start to finish, they had a beautiful wedding that was perfectly unique to them.

First, the day started off at Flinn Block Hall in Albany, Oregon with the couple’s wedding ceremony. Before Emily, Eli, and the wedding party made their way inside the ceremony space, we all noticed a detailed, unique arch at the front of the room. This arch perfectly captured their theme while also adding a hint of natural beauty with all of its leaves!

As the bridal party came down the aisle, it was amazing to see and capture all of their outfits. Plus, I started to wonder all about the Dungeons and Dragons characters that inspired their looks! Looking around at the couple’s loved ones, it was clear to see that everyone else was in love with the outfits and chosen theme, too.

Once the bridal party was all set in the front of the room, Emily and Eli came down the aisle. Both of them were glowing with excitement! It was all smiles from the bride and groom, and their happiness was infectious. Both Emily and Eli wore crowns with their chosen looks, and I later learned a special detail about Emily’s outfit… Emily made her entire outfit including the chainmail! Her look was truly one of a kind, and it was perfect for their one of a kind wedding.

The rest of their ceremony included unlocking a special chest, and the unique details didn’t stop there… Once they were officially bride and groom, Emily and Eli returned down the aisle through an archway that was made by their bridal party. It was a perfect touch that wrapped up their personalized ceremony!

Right after the ceremony, we got started with portraits! In Eli’s separate photos, he used his sword as a prop and really had fun embracing his Dungeons and Dragons attire. Emily looked radiant in her solo photos, and it was amazing to capture her handmade outfit up close. The natural lighting coming into the room was a perfect touch for her photos. Together, Emily and Eli looked regal and truly embodied their characters!

After capturing portraits of Emily and Eli, we also made sure to include a few shots of their entire bridal party. These group photos truly transport you to another time, and it’s incredible to see everyone’s commitment to their characters!

Before the reception got started, we captured all of the unique decor and personalized details around the reception space… Check out their cake with special bride and groom figurines along with their Dungeons and Dragons dice!

Plus, it was fun to get a sneak peek at the card game guidelines! After realizing there would be some kind of card game later in the night, we (guests and myself included!) couldn’t wait to learn more.

As the reception started, guests were all feeling spirited and ready to keep the party going! For dinner, we had SO many delicious pizza options. It was so hard to choose between all of the yummy toppings!

Next, it was time for cake cutting… The cake truly felt alive with the mouth, tongue, and all of the eyes on it! It was such a unique cake that perfectly complemented their Dungeons and Dragons theme. The bride and groom figurines in front of the cake added a personalized touch, too. By the time we were all done eating dinner and cake, everyone was stuffed!

Next, it was time for the bride and groom’s first dance! During this dance, Emily and Eli were both glowing, and you truly could see the excitement on their faces. Their loved ones also looked at them with so much joy!

After this, it was time for the dance floor to open up. Other couples joined the dance floor, and then the space was quickly filled up by the bridal party and all of their festive outfits! Let me tell you… Everyone was SO excited to join in the fun and celebrate Emily and Eli!

Toward the end of the night, Emily and Eli held a “Game of Chance” tournament for their wedding guests. We couldn’t wait to learn more about the game and its rules! The newlyweds shared that the “Game of Chance” was created to be a poker game in the style of a tournament. This way, guests could compete against each other and win a prize for being the ultimate winner.

Once there was a victory, the winning guest won a special trophy! I like to think of this trophy as the ultimate wedding favor… What a cool item to walk away with!
