If this sounds like you… Then this is for you!
Today, we’re talking more about the hair and makeup process that happens before we start any boudoir photography session! Especially for clients who are walking into my photography studio and having their very first boudoir shoot, the idea of getting your hair and makeup professionally done might seem a little bit intimidating...
The good news is that my glam team and I are very familiar with the types of questions you might have! Most clients who come in have a specific idea of what they want to look like when the hair and makeup process is all done… Whether you want to look like yourself or have a specific character or style in mind that you want to display through your look, we’re here to make sure that we match your vision!
We’re also here to make you feel like the most confident version of yourself, and one way we do this is by listening to exactly what you have in mind for your look! If you want lighter eye makeup and a red lip, you got it. Feeling sultry and want to go for a smokey eye? We’re here for it! You have my word that we’re always here to empower you and set you up with a look that will make you feel incredible!
That’s exactly what happened when my client walked into my Vancouver, Washington boudoir studio and we got started with her hair and makeup! My client booked a session with me and let me know that this would be her first boudoir shoot, so when we got started with her hair and makeup, I especially made sure to address any questions or hesitations she had about the process!
My client let us know that she really wanted to look like herself. She had a not-so-great experience in the past with having her makeup done professionally, so we definitely wanted to make sure to give her a MUCH better experience! My makeup artist for this session, Linda Wong, did a beautiful job on her makeup! My client told us that she really recognized herself in her look and was very happy with the end result.
When we got started with the session, my client put on a football jersey with matching knee-high red socks, and we took some photos using the bedroom set! My client also brought along a football, and this prop added a perfect touch to the shots. This themed outfit was such a fun way to get started with the shoot! Once we moved into the living room set, she switched between red and black lacy pieces for those photos. These classic pieces gave the photos such a timeless yet sensual feel!
My personal favorite shots were taken in the bedroom set with the burgundy satin sheets! My client absolutely shined with the burgundy color as a backdrop… Her hair and eyes really popped alongside the deep burgundy sheets that she selected. She truly was glowing in these shots! Even when edited to black and white, the photos taken in this setting look timeless and so gorgeous.
After my client saw her finalized photos, both her and her partner agreed that she looked just like herself in her shots! Hearing this was SO exciting to me… As a boudoir photographer, it’s my ultimate goal to help you feel confident and set you up with a hair and makeup look that makes you feel unstoppable. I’m so happy that this session was a “touchdown” for my client!
