Being Seen ~ Vancouver, WA Boudoir Photography

I would like to thank this amazing woman for taking the time to write a guest post for me! Here is her “boudoir story” in her own words!

~

I had a boudoir session with Brittney right around Valentine’s Day… perfect time to get myself feeling confident and sexy.

As part of the session there was a makeup artist to get me glammed up before the shoot. She made me feel at ease and it was nice to just chat and sort of hangout and relax before the shoot. There wasn’t a mirror in front of me and I let her just go for it and it was a fun reveal. It was very vampy which was perfect for the dark outfits and candlelight photos we had planned.

I used to think that doing boudoir photos always seemed like you would be doing it for someone else to give the pictures to, I couldn’t have been more wrong. It was really empowering and the biggest take away I think from the entire experience was to feel seen. That might sound weird but being a wife, mother, employee, boss and friend is overwhelming at times like I am something for someone all the time and that someone is never myself.

This was different. It was about me, about seeing me, with my grey hair, tiger stripes, tattoos, fine lines from stressful days, the laugh lines from the good times and celebrating it all. I felt beautiful and silly which is how I like to think to myself in general. I would recommend for any woman, any age, any size to treat themselves to this experience. It truly was a confidence booster and a gift to the self.

Also, I think Brittney has a great way of making you feel comfortable in what could be an awkward moment (half naked in front of a camera) and it makes you feel at ease to be your true self. She made me feel celebrated, sexy, strong, confident, and it was a reminder that I am all those things. I will definitely be treating myself to another session in the future!

I love hearing things like this from clients! Many woman come to me to get photographs done for a “special someone”, but I truly believe that the experience (and the end result photos!) are an even BIGGER gift for yourself!
